Valley Rib Fest is a professional ribber competition coming to the Annapolis Valley (Gespugwitg) for the first time! On August 6-8 at the Louis Millett Community Complex in New Minas two professional grill masters, Texas Rangers BBQ and Crabby's BBQ Shack will face off to win your vote for best ribs and best sauce. This year's event will be drive-thru only to keep everyone safe.

Admission is free but please drop some change in the nets on your way in to support The Flower Cart Group's Building Opportunities Campaign for a new facility! Our friends at the Rotary Club of New Minas Sunrise will be on hand to collect your donations. Then just drive in, someone will take your order then hand you your order to go!

The Rotary Club of New Minas Sunrise, formed in April 2000. They are a diverse group of compassionate and enthusiastic business professionals and community members committed to making the Village of New Minas a good place to live and volunteer. The club enjoys an active membership who support our local community, and international projects. Their weekly meetings on Wednesday, 7 – 8 a.m., include fellowship, breakfast and a program. 
Rotary is a global network of 1.2 million neighbours, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in themselves.

how it works

1. Review the menu before you arrive so you can drool over the options.
2. Pull into the "enter" route at the Louis Millett parking lot and follow the cones. Volunteers will be on hand to guide you. The line will split into two, join the line for your preferred ribber. Don't worry, you can always come back for the other!
3. Pull up to the order tent, place your order and pay all from your car window.
4. Pull ahead to your ribber's truck, someone will hand you your order. From there, you'll be directed to the exit. Easy!

This year's CHARITY

Valley Rib Fest 2021 is supporting The Flower Cart Group's Building Opportunities Capital Campaign. For over 50 years, The Flower Cart Group has provided support and vocational training to adults with intellectual disabilities and complex barriers to employment. In 2018, they launched the Building Opportunities Capital Campaign to build a new social enterprise and vocational training facility at 9503 Commercial St. The new building represents sustainable future growth and evolution, enhanced accessibility for all, significant operating and environmental cost-savings, and longevity. We are proud to support the campaign and need your help with cash donations at the entrance.
